The 3rd Education Graduate Student Forum at National Dong Hwa University

I. Origin and Purposes of the Forum
The explosion of information and knowledge reflects that technology speeds up the change of the world.  The world is stepping forward a rich, various, thought liberating, broadening and paralleling journey just as it refers that the rapid changing world changes the system of knowledge, judgment and society in Education Report of the Republic of China: It Takes Ten Critical Years to Rear People.  The rapid changing age shapes new generation of students.  It challenges teaching career and education.  Education majors during the period of time are supposed to be responsible for the duty and face the challenge.
Professional development community of teachers is in charge of providing teachers during the rapid changing period of time with motivation and competency of dealing with problems. Likewise, young education majors, instead of doing research on their own, should communicate with each other and think out the solutions to problems together so as to enhance the ability of conducting academic research, to cultivate the integrative ability of finding out the new educational trends, to do research and putting theories into practice by presentations and deep communications, and to face the trials of the present time.
    The purposes of the forum are as follows:
1. To help education majors or other graduate students majoring in related fields to achieve academic communication and build up the community of professional development.
2. To cultivate education majors or other graduate students majoring in related fields to have the ability and perspective of integrating theories and practices.
3. To provide education majors or other graduate students majoring in related fields with the progress of career plan.
II. Topics of the Conference 
1. The Reflection and Scenery of the Schools in the Rapid Changing Society: Multicultural Education, Educational Administration, School Safety or Other Related Issues
2. The Integration and Application of Specializing Subjects and Learning Areas: Science Education, Teaching English as Foreign/Second Language, Vocational Education or Other Related Issues
3. The Ideals and Trials of Secondary Students in the Digital Age: Assistive Device for Learning, Information Education, MOOCs or Other Related Issues
4. Other Issues Related to Education (e.g. Teacher Education, Higher Education, Educational Questionnaire Development etc.)

V. Types of Proposals
1. Keynote Speeches
Speakers deliver the possible development and perspective of curriculum and instruction and expectations of education majors.
2. Topic Papers
We will invite expert scholars to comment on the topic papers.
3. Round Tables
We would like to invite presenters to comment and communicate mutually.  Experts’ comments are supportive so that students can learn from them.
4. Posters
The posters are supposed to be in five paragraphs.  The five paragraphs include research questions, research purposes, research findings, conclusions and suggestions.
The size of the poster is A1 (width 59.4cm, height 84.1cm).
5. Panels
Education experts talk with young scholars and students.
VI. Education Graduate Student Forum Award
1. The Best Papers
(I) The Process of Review
We will invite expert scholars to go through two stages of double blind review.  The five criteria of review include fluency and style, the construction of the thesis, the review of literature, methodology and argument, academic value.
(II) Announcement
We will award three best master students’ and doctoral students’ papers respectively.  The winners will be declared and awarded in the closing ceremony.  Meanwhile, the contributions and the affiliation of the winners and that of purposes will be announced on the forum website.
(III) Additional Considerations
Information about the process of committee reviews will be confidential.  Fewer than 3 best papers for master students or doctoral students will be awarded when the review committee concludes there are not enough qualified papers.
VII. Registration and Fees
1. Registration Process
The contributors are supposed to pay first and register on line then.  The information of registration fees and remitting money are as the following three items 2, 3, and 4.

500 NT (There are totally three meals including lunch and dinner on the 1st day, and lunch on the 2nd day.)
3. Special Offers for Groups
Group of above 5 contributors (including 5), who register from March 1st to March 31st, 2016, will be charged only 400 NT individually.  The group registration website is as follows:

4. How to Pay for It
The contributors have to pay your registration fees by remitting money.  The name of remitter must correspond to the name which you register on line.  (Group registration must pay up all registration fees of all group members.)  The information of the remitting money account is as follows:

VIII.  Notice of Submission
1. Notice of Abstract Submission
The contributor is supposed to submit the 300-500-word abstract by September 30th, 2015.  The format of the file would be doc. or docx. file of Microsoft Office Word.  Please e-mail to edugraduateschool@gmail.com and specify your graduate program, department and school in your abstract.  The title of the file should be: 

The Title of the Paper_Author (abstract)

2. The results of abstract reviews will be posted on the forum website by November 15th, 2015.
3. Notice of Full Text Submission
The contributor is supposed to submit 8,000-12,000-word full text by February 19th, 2016 (including Chinese and English abstracts).  Please e-mail full text to edugraduateschool@gmail.com.  The title of the file should be

4. The manuscripts will be treated under double blind review.
5. The Result Announcement
The results of full-text paper reviews will be announced by March 31st, 2016.  The organizer will decide the way of announcement.
6. The proposal would be canceled if the contributor plagiarizes.
